Marlene and her husband, John, have five children and met while attending the University of St. Thomas in Houston. After graduating with a B.A. from UST in Elementary Education, Marlene taught in Catholic Schools within in the Dioceses of Galveston-Houston and Pittsburgh, PA. During their 33 years of marriage, they made wonderful memories of living in Wisconsin (for 2 years) and in Pennsylvania (for 14 years), but they are most excited to be back with their large extended family in Texas and in Louisiana. In Pittsburgh, Marlene and her family participated in the March-For-Life in Washington, DC. Marlene has served on a Parish Pro-Life Committee, volunteered for Vacation Bible School, and was a facilitator for Baptism Preparation Classes, in addition to being PTA President for their parish school in Pittsburgh. Marlene continues to be involved in Pro-Life Activities and in helping her oldest son continue his miraculous journey in recovering from a traumatic brain injury in 2010.
Marlene enjoys visiting family, taking bicycle rides, trips to the coast, reading, and most importantly, searching for ways to learn and grow in the knowledge of her Catholic Faith.
