We’re seeking an Accountant who takes pride in producing accurate and timely financial reports, has strength in building spreadsheets, is a whiz at Quickbooks, and can analyze, report, and communicate areas of opportunity or improvement by analyzing financial data.

Overview:

The successful candidate for our Accountant position will lead our accounting and financial reporting tasks including account reconciliations, financial report preparation, recording journal entries, manage and reconcile A/P, develop budgets, and other related accounting functions. The applicant must possess effective communication skills for reporting to a variety of individuals including team members, donors, or board members.  The applicant is expected to have a strong work ethic, is self-motivated, detail oriented, hold impeccable integrity, and an ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment. The selected candidate will collaborate with staff and support the mission of Fullness of Truth.

Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting transactions
• Assist in building annual budgets and variance reports
• Timely preparation of financial statements including balance sheets and income statements
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
• Ensure timely bank reconciliations
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns
• Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
• Audit financial transactions and documents
• Respect and reinforce financial data and donor confidentiality
• Ensure proper maintenance of donor management database, including synching events with QuickBooks to reflect accurate financial reporting
• Cash preparation, management, collection, and oversight at Conferences and events
• Work with Bookstore staff to ensure accurate reporting of Inventories
• Comply with financial policies and regulations
• Risk management, financial analysis, decision-making support
• Ability to travel to conference locations on weekends approx. 5-6 times per year. Flexibility in working multiple roles to support our conference logistics which may include lifting, moving, packing and unpacking boxes with Conference materials.

• Ultimately, the Accountant will provide accurate quantitative information on financial position, liquidity, and cash flows, while ensuring we’re compliant with all tax regulations to maintain our nonprofit status.

Requirements and skills

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Accountant, preferably CPA license.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures
• Extensive knowledge and experience with QuickBooks
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with general ledger functions
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
• BSc in Accounting, Finance, or relevant degree
• Excellent communications skills
• Knowledge of nonprofit regulations for compliance of 501c3 status
• Physical efforts required includes the ability to lift and move boxes, and assist in a variety of roles at our off-site Conference locations.
• Must have independent transportation to travel to Conference locations.
• Additional certification (CPA) is a plus
